The Celebrated Marque
At the California Mille, we proudly celebrate history’s most impressive vehicles. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce a brand-new way for us all to show our car love: our Celebrated Marque. Each year, our Celebrated Marque will honor a trailblazing make and model from around the original Mille Miglia era. We’re excited to announce our inaugural Celebrated Marque is any Ferrari 250 sports car, gran tourer or race car built from 1952 to 1964. Apply today to take part in this year’s California Mille with your Ferrari 250 and join a Mille legacy that began with the 250 Sport by Vignale 0156ET — an experimental prototype that won the 1952 Mille Miglia.
Don’t have a Ferrari 250? No problem! The California Mille will always welcome any and all cars that could have participated in the original Mille Miglia.
To maintain the spirit of the Mille Miglia, we carefully choose cars that fit our requirements and specifications from each year’s group of applicants.
Car eligibility
The California Mille is open to any and all cars that could have participated in the original Mille Miglia. Foreign and domestic manufacturers are welcome, but all cars must have been made prior to January 1, 1958.
The organizers will select the most interesting cars while seeking a variety of makes and types.
The event is limited to approximately 65-70 cars based on the availability of hotel reservations.
Every vehicle must be road legal, registered and covered by liability insurance, proof of which must be carried in the vehicle at all times during the event.
A clear, current and reproducible photograph or jpeg must accompany each application along with an accurate vehicle description.
Insurance requirements
Every car is required to be properly insured according to the state and/or country of the car’s registration. Please note that some insurance policies may have limitations on mileage or restrict coverage when the car is not parked in a secured garage overnight, driven in road rallies or while in transit. We recommend verifying that your car will be covered for a 1,000-mile organized multi-day rally that involves hotel parking lots and commercial shipping.
