The 2013 California Mille was held April 28th to May 2nd on the challenging back roads of Northern California.
The four-day, 1,000-mile rally continued its long tradition of spirited driving in historic sports cars on the twisty and picturesque roads for which they were intended.

according to David Swig, the son of California Mille Miglia founder Martin Swig, who passed away last year
after 22 years at the helm of the car rally. “My brother [Howard] and I grew up with the spirit of the Mille Miglia in our blood.

The California Mille, a four-day, 1,000-mile homage to Italy’s historic Mille Miglia,
will start off from the plaza in front of San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel Monday;
and this year’s event is particularly bittersweet because for the first time in ages,
its founder, Martin Swig, won’t be there. Mr. Swig died last July
at his home in Sausalito, Calif., at the age of 78.
